This months staff spotlight focuses on Jane Fletcher Cahill, Winters new business letting agent and we asked her to answer the following in short:
What is your role?
My primary role is to look after the new business in the Letting Department. This means I liaise with all new landlords, inspect the properties, make sure they are meeting with legislation and often arrange works that are needed. From installing CO2 alarms to complete repaints, new floors, furnishings I look after this side of things at Winters Property.
What do you like most about your job?
Being a landlord is not easy, it’s very different now to what it used to be. I often meet landlords that are completely overwhelmed with what needs to be done or even where to start – especially in regard to compliance. I love it when you see you’ve really made a difference to that person and they’ve finally stopped stressing and worrying about their property. I have met some really lovely, kind, decent people during my time at Winters and I love that about my job too, it gives you a great feeling of satisfaction.
Are you involved in any wellness initiatives in Winters?
I took part in the Run a Muck challenge earlier in the year – it was a great event and I look forward to the next one!
What is on your wish list?
Cookery holiday travelling around various regions in Italy
What is your favourite childhood memory?
Riding through the fields on my pony Pa – my brother and I had a whole cross country course set up (well he had!) – it was great crack!
Where would you like to go on your dream holiday?
Desert island for a bit of peace and quiet!
What changes have you seen during your time within the company?
Huge changes – I’m here 18 years, technology and systems have played a vital role in streamlining the business.
